inc IAAF permit 20km and Open 10km 5th October 2014

It was wonderful to see the Kings racing domestically at their forte, with the usual contrasting fortunes ! It rarely seems acknowledged but these lads have given great service to British Athletics over the last few years with their 50km efforts. Congrats to Dom and commiserations to Dan on this occasion . . .Very impressed with Michael George and how he digs so deep, with not ideal preparation. Inspiring stuff Mike ! . . . . A shame that Ian Richards didn't make it through this time and we sincerely hope that he gets the chance to chalk up a satisfactory M65 performance in the near future . . . . .Lastly we're so pleased about young Jon Hobbs winning the very historic and newly restored RWA Trophy. He's been quietly building an impressive distance CV with 2x Church-to-Church victories already, a win in our Open 35km this summer, and now this on his 50km debut. Looking forward to see him step up to new levels ! . . . . . . Thoroughly enjoyed the Hillingdon event yesterday and a big Well Done to all, including the international contingent led by the technically impressive Odriozola.

The RWA were delighted with 30 starters for the new A/B format, plus additional 10km/20km races. A bright, sunny day featured a strong Spanish presence, however the small and not quite flat 1km circuit meant that the walkers had to negotiate a hundred tight turns. Lancs had the winning Northern 35km team out with Greg making it to the start line with seconds to spare.

Results only show the individual places. Defending Champion Adrian (listed as 'Duncan' by mistake) was feeling under-par unfortunately and retired at 31km. But only two finishers were required to score for the Team Championship and the second Belgrave man didn't make the time cut-off.
